Abstract This paper aims to review the impact of different factors influencing corrosion resistance electroless Ni-P based coatings. Emphasis has been given onto phosphorus content, incorporation alloying elements, addition particles and heat treatment which have discussed in detail critically reviewed. The effect corrosive media coating process parameters on are studied concisely. Furthermore, role various elements particles’ contents systematically. also presents an overview latest electrochemical measuring techniques. following approaches deserve special attention analysis: localized impedance spectroscopy (LEIS), scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET), ion-selective (SIET), droplet cell (SDC), microscopy (SECM), Kelvin probe (SKP) novel contactless (NCT).
